Isabelle - 1 year old developments

Our toddler (yes, she’s 1 now, no longer a baby) has grown and is now very conscious of her surroundings. She waves bye bye and gives us flying kisses when we go to work. She squeals in excitement to see us come home. At bedtime, she makes sure we are in bed with her to give her an assuring hug or cuddle. In the mornings, she swings her arms & legs around me and sometimes climbs over to lie on my chest. If we are not around when she wakes, she screams and wails for our attention. If she sees something unfamiliar, she clings to our legs or sometimes begs us to carry her. When she is frustrated and in need of attention, she flings her arms in the arm, screaming on top of her voice, sometimes even crying till her whole face is red. But most of time, she is happy and smiley and just full of energy and in desperate want for someone to play with her. When she watches YouTube, she stares in deep concentration, with head tilted to one side occasionally, a finger in her mouth and other hand on her head… as if deep in thought, digesting, understanding and sometimes even following the actions of the characters she is watching. She is curious and wants to touch, feel, grab anything she sees… pulling clothes from her rack, tip toeing and reaching out to take her lotion, powder, baby oil from the basket, making a mess of her books & toys. Oh and I noticed lately that she would pick her jelly sandals or toys and bring it up to us with a big smile on her face (really sweet!). She occasionally babbles in baby talk. But most noticeable of all, she is attracted to music and sounds. This gets her attention all the time, and she taps her feet to the beat, sways her hands as if conducting the music and hums to herself.

Our toddler is a joy to see, a joy to be with…she makes every day of our lives worthwhile, every problem in our lives insignificant, but most of all, she makes us humble beings again… that material wants & needs are transient in this live, and only love and family relationships hold strong throughout. Isabelle is a joy and blessing in our lives, and we have nothing but love, love, love for her J
