It's my 2nd time celebrating Mother's Day. Honestly nothing really sunk in when Mother's Day passed last year, it was only a month after Isabelle was born and I was probably overwhelmed by the experience of being a new mother. But now 1 year on, this day truly means something to me. For one, I feel thankful to have a wonderful mother who has been so supportive of me, and above that, I have finally realised the great efforts & sacrifices of being a mother. No words can express the efforts every mother has to go through, and as the priest sermon rightly says "a mother does all, at no charge, not expecting any repayment, giving herself up selflessly". So before I forget, Happy Mother's Day Mummy! You're The Best!
So what did I do this Mother's Day? I celebrated it with Isabelle, having tea at Watami. D treated me & my mum to Mother's Day lunch at Shin Minori the prior Sunday, and we had a great time, food was delicious and what made it even nicer was that Isabelle enjoyed the endame, chawamushi and grilled salmon very much.
Like I said I am determined to make our weekends the same as when D is around, and so I brought Isabelle out to the mall. I didn't want her cooped up at home just become D is not around. We "checked in" to Watami, but I felt a little sad as most of the seats were occupied by families obviously celebrating the occasion with their wifes, mothers. And people were kinda staring at us...just cos it was the 2 of us. Please lor...I am not a single mother, its just that the husband is away...so stop staring at us like freaks please. Anyway, every mother deserves to spend some mother & child only bonding time together right?????!!!!
Anyway, going forward, will be posting more photos here so that D can read about our lives and view the photos and know that we are well (since FB is banned in China). I know deep down in his heart, he feels guilty leaving us here on our own, and hopefully these photos will give him comfort and peace of mind that we are doing fine.
