When are you a confirmed parent?

Honestly when I was pregnant, I did not know how I would transition into motherhood/parenthood. Books say it will come naturally, I do not doubt that....but will I be a good parent?Am I a confirmed parent?

It has been 7.5 months and I think D and I are confirmed parents.....

• When your weekends revolves around the baby's routines, nap times, meal times
• When your first discussion topic when you get back home is about your baby's sleeping patterns, eating habits, poo routine
• When your watch says 6pm, and you are rushing to wrap up all your work for the day and get back home ASAP
• When your heart skips a beat to see your house no flash on your handphone...... did something happen????
• When your shopping trips (if any) are only for your baby.... you nag your partner's purchases but never your baby's cos everything is justified

I can't say D and I are the best parents, but I know we are confirmed parents and are doing our best. Being a parent requires a lot of sacrifices indeed, and I think we have both given up much of our social life and even couple time. But nothing beats watching the milestones of your little one, that cheeky smile, feeling the tight grasp of those tiny hands, the sweet ahhhhhs (and screams too). Its a surreal feeling and we definitely have no regrets :)
