Feeling Young

The day I became a mother, I think age caught up with me. Well, overnight I not only had a baby to care for, I had a helper to manage, a household to plan for, and as if that is not enough...., remember I am still working!!!! Argghhhhhh!!!! And so how does one cope?

Honestly, I don't know how I did it. It was really hard at first. I guess living a life as a married couple with no kids was just easy peasy. You eat, sleep, wake whenever you want, no routines to follow! But now, there is no more sleep ins, the baby wakes you even if you wanted an additional wink. There are weekly groceries to be done, and I don't even want to tell you how I've started memorising the price of vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, diapers, milk, etc, and which shop has the best deals for your household needs.

So why is this post titled "Feeling Young"? Cos I just realised that Isabelle entering into our lifes has let us re-live a second childhood. When was the last time you sang a nursery rhyme? When was the last time you read a kid's story book/fairy tale? When was the last time you watched a cartoon? When was the last time you stepped into Toys R Us and shopped for toys (except for the occasional visit for a gift for your friend's kids)? When was the last time you laughed your heart out over something as simple & silly as food shooting out to your face or pee on your bed? As much as age has caught up on me, and responsibilites are now abundant, I find my energy levels have gone up. I feel more youthful again, I have this burst of energy to do so much, I am never tired everytime I see Isabelle's smile.... I FEEL YOUNG!
