Day 3 as a "SAHM"

Today was the easiest of my days as a SAHM

Firstly, I am now familiar with all of Isabelle's fussy signs at meal times...so out come my tricks timely and swiftly. So less mess and less tantrums makes a happy mummy.

Secondly, the part time maid comes. She did an excellent job in 4 hours, which makes me wonder what our helper has been doing??? She was also super professional, took 5 minutes to assess our home, 5 minutes to find out where all the cleaning stuff were kept...and she started off immediately. No small conversations, just simply focused on getting the stuff done.

What impressed me...
1) She cleans the ceiling fan and lights. Wow...wasn't expecting that. I was shocked when I took a peek and saw the ladder in my hall.
2) She brings a screwdriver in her handbag to open the standing fans for cleaning. Wow... so pro
3) She wipes the top of my fridge. Another wow...these are the things we neglect and even have to remind the helper to do
4) SHe irons a tall basket of clothes in half hour and tells me...oh this isnt as much as you described it to be.... Hmmm, ok, there will be more in future :P
5) She handwashes all the foot rugs...is this common for part time maids to dos???
6) SHe cleans the kitchen too. I had some dishes dripping on a rack over the sink, and she wiped them all up and kept them, washed the sink, wiped my cooker and hob.

No wonder my friend's mum has been using her for years. I got her contact from my friend who has recommended her to many others who are extremely satisfied too. For 15/hr for 4 hours, I am a happy customer. The only downside, she only wants to do my home bi-weekly cos she has no other homes to go to nearby. Boo Hoo...hopefully I can convince her to convert to weekly some day.

With no housework to do today, I could spend a lot of time with Isabelle. WHich makes me miss the times when we had the helper. The only good part was I could leave all the housework to her, and focus on spending lots of time with Isabelle especially since I am working full time. I'm feeling a bit guilty cos there will be less time with Isabelle as I juggle the housework, but also reminding myself that its quality time that's most important. Hoping I will manage it well next week, when Isabelle goes back to school and I go back to work and I'm on my own!
