Day 2 and i think time management wise was much better. However, it almost did not turn out well for the fussy eater threw a tantrum at breakfast and refused to finish her milk. The ever persistent me just refused to give in, and I was almost at wits end finding new tricks to feed the toddler.
I'm not sure if I should even call her a fussy eater....for after much trick, she will definitely finish up all her food. This morning, I had to resort to feeding her milk from a syringe! So it was like 3ml each time, so just imagine...for 100ml of remaining milk,...thats like almost 30+ times!!!! But she finished it anyway, and well behaved too. So should I say she just wants a different way to be fed? Seriously, my mum & hubby think that I am crazy sometimes, the persistence, patience and determination and the craziest things I do to make sure Isabelle finishes her food. I know what I am doing is bad, however if you have a toddler who just refuses to eat, would you resort to the tricks I do??? Anyway, for the rest of the day, I just resorted to the syringe for the milk feeds and there was no further fuss for the day.
Isabelle's taste and preference for her food is always changing. She always loves soup and porridge. Today she showed no interest for both. Well, actually she showed dislike for chicken soup last night, and I thought ok...maybe cos she doesnt want chicken soup...and therefore chicken porridge this afternoon. But tonights soup was pork rib base and she disliked it too. I'm going to try her favourite corn soup tomorrow to see if I get the same reaction. Arghghggh....
So now I'm thinking what I should prepare for lunch & dinner tomorrow. And especially on Thursday when the husband is back to be the SAHD! I better make sure its something her favourite to reduce the stress for the husband.
Isabelle is also moving on to the terrible 2 phase. she just rejects anything and everything, only to oblige later. I must say her tantrums are much more manageable now since she started school. I did tell the teacher about her tantrums, which they noticed too (flying hands, rolling on the floor, scratching her face, pulling her hair). Not sure what they did in school, but after a week I noticed that she had improved, and even the paed commented that her behaviour has changed slightly since she started playgroup. But anyway, while the tantrums have reduced...the NOs and WHYs are aplenty
This is what happens almost everyday
Isabelle...let's change diapers. WHY???
Isabelle ... time to drink milk. WHY ????
Isabelle... time to switch of the TV. WHY????
Err.... actually she says WHY much more frequently than NO. So is that good or bad?
Her other favourite words....Oo...and OH NO!
I can also tell that she wants to show her independence and a mind of her own. This afternoon, she threw a tantrum when I wanted to change her. After a while, I decided to let her open the drawers herself and realised she wanted to pick her own clothes!!! And a few days ago, the same thing happened. she wanted to choose the brand of diapers to wear (I have Huggies & Pampers in stock). Oh boy! It's gonna be challenging times ahead!
Back to Day 2, the highlight of today was taking the condo shuttle bus to Junction 8. Isabelle enjoyed the ride very much as it was similar to boarding a bus as shown on SUNSHINE STATION on Okto Channel. While waiting for the bus back home, we even shared a Ribena and the sweetest part is watching her grin happily after each sip. And when I asked her, are you happy Isabelle? Can you show mama with a kiss? SHe gave me 3 big muaks....happiness indeed!
