MIL visits for the first time after 6 months. The last time she saw Isabelle was during CNY. I guess Isabelle has grown a lot since, she now recognises the people around her, and obviously MIL wasn't one of them. The minute MIL entered the house Isabelle shyed away. Actually Isabelle was watching her Barney DVD, but even that could not distract her attention. Isabelle turned shy and defensive and buried her head into my chest (not even wanting to watch Barney).... even finally when she calmed down, she wanted me to cup her face with my hands and cuddle her till she finished her milk feed.
Finally when it was time to go to bed, she hugged me tight like a koala and went into the bedroom. This is when our great pretender shows her true colours. Upon realising that it was just the both of us in the room, Isabelle was immediately awake. She wanted to prance around on the bed, she wanted music and was reluctant to sleep.
Isabelle, mummy never knew you could be such a good actress. Looks like I've got to watch out here!
