Sept 11

Sept 11 - Isabelle turns 17 months. It seems just like yesterday that she was born. But really, she has grown up so much. She is able to express herself much more now, although not in speech, but thru her actions & facial expressions. At this stage, she is showing a great attachment to me. If she knows that I am home, she wants to follow me everywhere. When I get home from work or errands, she runs with a big grin on her face to greet me, then hugs my legs and would not let me off till I give her a big hug & kisses.

But the greatest milestone at this stage is Isabelle is finally trying to talk. No real clear words that she uses regularly, but there are a couple which she says often enough.

* Mi mi - hehe, that refers to me, for mummy! If only she could string Ah Ma, which she used to call me months back, it would have been a perfect "mummy", but still i love how she lovingly calls out Mi Mi. I will remember this forever my baby. And someday I will tell you how you used to call me Mi Mi... cos it will surely make you giggle.

* No - well, I guess we must be saying this too often to her. And so she says No No No to everything

* A min - meaning Amen. This was totally random. We say our night prayer together, and one day out of the blue, she echoed after me Amen, and I was thrilled.

* Sun - this was again totally random. We were playing flash cards on the iphone, a picture of the sun flashed by and she correctly shouted out Sun.

* Besides that, she knows a couple of words and is able to identify all of them correctly. E.g. nose, ear, eyes, mouth, head, wall, door, bed, window, cow, cat, dog, bird, ball. She knows all her toys well, La La from Teletubbies, Dora, Pooh (no particular favourite). She also knows all her nursery rhymes and is able to identify the page in the book.

Another distinct part of her growth is her increasing appetite. It's really a joy to see her eat. Isabelle grabs our hands to bring the spoon to her mouth. It's like she is guiding us on the pace to feed her. She enjoys her meal and is more willing to try out new food. Though she still does not show any preference for fried food or sweet stuff like cakes & desserts. I guess I should not be complaining, these ain't healthy food after all. I should be glad that she enjoys her veggies, fish, toufu, steam chicken, pork stew and all.

My baby is growing up...she's due for school in a month;s time. Hope all goes well.
