The little things Isabelle says and do these days, makes me realise that she is growing and developing faster than I'd ever imagined. Maybe it's the way we speak to her, maybe it's school, maybe it's the environment she is exposed to... Whatever it is we are really delighted and enjoying wonderful conversations with her these days. Here are some of my favourites
One night as I was opening the fridge Isabelle saw her packet of Ribena from the Happy Meal and grabbed it with delight. I told her that no sweet drinks are allowed and naturally she burst out into tears. However within seconds, she held back her tears and said authoritatively "Go grand aunt house, grand aunt have Ribena". I was amused but actually more shocked that she remembered having a cup of Ribena at my aunt's place and it was more than a month ago.

Some mornings Isabelle wakes up bright and chirpy and this is how we start of the day.
I: mummy carry me
Me: ok baby. Good morning Isabelle
I: good morning mummy
Me: I love you Isabelle
I: I love you mummy
And that is the best way to start the day. No need for any caffeine booster

I dropped some coins at the market this morning and thought I had picked up everything. The little one's eyes are obviously sharper than mine, she was looking high and low with me and quickly pointed out that I had missed another coin at a corner. Isabelle said " mummy see" pointing furiously to the spot, after which she pat herself smugly on her chest saying" help mummy find!"

One morning I was watching Japan Hour on tv. I didn't think it would leave much impact on Isabelle. However these days she has been asking to watch the 2 women swimming/ taking shower in a pool of hot water in the snow. It was the repeated scenes of the 2 hosts visiting onsens during winter!

I usually push Isabelle in her trickle to the market. Today when we got home isabelle insisted to help me carry her tricycle into the house to the balcony. She usually volunteers her help but never really carries her tricycle, but today she actually lifted the bike, I could actually feel the lift and the effort. At the balcony she made sure her tricycle was parked properly at the usual spot before running off. And where did she go? To shut our grill gate and main door which had been left wide open. After which she scooted off to wash her hands and feet. All without any prompting from me.

My little Isabelle has really grown up so much. I beam with pride when I see her carrying a pail of water claiming she is helping mummy to clean. She wants to wash her own clothes, she wants to cook, oh she brings her own bowl to the kitchen sink after meals saying thank you mummy/ papa/ grandma/ grandpa (whoever is doing the dishes).
She shows that she is able to remember things / events which happened months ago, including our trip to hong kong and Jakarta. We are definitely becoming more careful of the things we say and do.
